Solar Powered Tents Possible For The U.S Army.

The U.S Army is now considering the use of solar powered tents. These portable, lightweight and flexible canopy tents will allow ground troops to deploy anywhere and have access to electrical energy that can be used for a host of applications including charging batteries and computers. These new canopy tents will eliminate the need for bulky generators and heavy fuel payloads.

The new solar powered canopies are discussed in great detail on the U.S Army website. Author, Kris Osborn, sheds light on the benefits of solar power and how the Army plans to incorporate these new canopy tents into it's current arsenal. The article titled, "Army evaluating transportable solar-powered tents", contains several discussion points and comments from Army officials about how these unique solar canopies are currently being field tested before full implementation.
