Super Heavy-Duty Tarps Provide Optimal Winter Coverge.

This winter get protected by using one of our super heavy-duty tarps. Manufactured using laminated polyethylene, the super heavy-duty tarp was designed for those in tropical climates that required a heavier, more durable cover. However, many individuals have found that the thicker laminate has been useful in everyday applications in regions with moderate climates, as well as in climates that experience extreme seasonal conditions such as rain and snow.

Most tarp covers purchased at local stores are of the light weight variety and only last a couple of months when exposed to the elements. The super heavy-duty tarp is designed to provide years of protection before replacement is needed. The unique rip stop material allows the tarp to still be effective even when there is damage to the material. The tarpaulin material is designed to prevent continued ripping at the tear point. Each super heavy-duty tarp is retrofitted with grommets every 18 inches and is 14 Mil. in thickness.
Great for canopies, camping or any other outdoor activity that needs protection from rain, snow, sun and debris. The super heavy-duty tarp is the ultimate all purpose outdoor cover for both home and business use.

Relief Shelters Needed For Venezuela Flood Victims.

Venezuela has recently been hit with heavy rains and extreme flooding, which has not only killed approximately 32 people but has left up to 100,000 people homeless as they have forced to evacuate their homes. Also affected has been the neighboring country of Columbia that has been dealing with not only torrential rains but mudslides as well. So far 300 tons of humanitarian aid has been distributed to those in need and more than 700 shelters have been doing their best to take care of the displaced residents. You can find out more regarding this current event by reading the article by Reuters.com titled, "Venezuela Moves Flood-Hit Families Into Resort Hotels".

Portable Carports Under Debate In Montreal

Portable garages and carports have many advantages for those looking to add extra storage space in their home for valuables such as car, trucks and equipment. There are still many Americans, as well as individuals in other countries, that do not have garage space for parking vehicles. Portable storage buildings give residential home owners the option of adding storage space without the need of building permits for permanent construction. However, it is always important to check with your local laws before purchasing a new portable garage carport. There is no such thing as a standard when it comes to outdoor shelters. Every city, state and country is different regarding building permit laws and what is considered an eye sore by city officials.

A recent article by CBC News titled, "Ban on temporary car shelters under review" is a good example of how some cities determine bylaws regarding portable garages and carports. In this particular case, portable building shelters were outlawed unless an exception to the rule was granted by city officials. Those individuals without permanent garages were allowed to erect portable shelters as an alternative. However, there is now talk that the ban may be lifted all together. This article sheds light on how city bylaws regarding canopies can be created and altered based on events. The laws are always changing and being challenged. The ever changing laws regarding shelter products and the politics discussed in this recent article should be a reminder to all that it is very important to check with local ordinances before making a purchase.

Choosing A Canopy Replacement Cover

The most popular model of canopy sold in major retail stores today is the 10' x 20' Valance Style shelter. The tarp cover fabric is designed to overhang around the edges, which prevents water from entering the structure. This valance style is also more acceptable in residential neighborhoods. There is a time when replacement of the original cover is necessary and there are a few things to know before purchasing any random replacement cover.

The first thing to know before shopping for a new replacement cover is the measurement of your frame. There is no such thing as a universal replacement cover and there are currently two models on the market that have considerable differences in the frame design. Knowing your frame type will help you save both time and money by preventing an incorrect purchase. The three most important measurements are the width, height from ground to center peak and the length of the roof rafter on one side. These three measurements will give you the information need to make an informed decision.

The two different styles of frames can be distinguished by manufacturer or brand. The two most common brands sold for the 10' x 20' frame type are Shelter Logic and King Canopy. Although both considered 10' x 20' shelters, the measurements and replacement cover are completely different. We have added the images for both frame types. Before making a purchase it is very important to know what frame style you have and what canopy replacement cover is needed.
