Tarps Distributed by Oxfam International For Sri Lanka Flood Victims.

Eastern Sri Lanka has been recently faced with disaster on a large scale due to flooding. Currently, more than 900,000 people have been affected by the torrential rains and flooding. In addition to property damage, the flooding has damaged more that 200,000 acres of rice fields.

The present situation in Sri Lanka is detrimental as thousands are left homeless and in search of food and shelter. Oxfam International, which is a collection of 14 different organizations, has been providing continuous support to Sri Lanka with the distribution of hygiene kits, tarps, cooked food and bottled water to approximately 17,000 people in Batticaloa, Trincomalee and Ampara districts in the East.

The organization is asking for individuals to help by donating to one of their emergency fund partners.
