Shelterlogic Replacement Covers – How to Choose a Replacement Cover

Even the best canopy covers can get worn out or damaged over time. When it's time to shop for Shelterlogic replacement covers, there are several things to take into consideration. Buying a new canopy cover isn't as clear cut as it may seem. The measurements that are used by manufacturers can be a bit misleading if you're not familiar with the terminology. When you take the time to understand what you're looking for, however, you'll find that there are many different canopy covers available to you. You may even find a replacement cover that's much better than the original tarp.

The best way to determine the correct size for Shelterlogic replacement covers is to measure the old cover. This should be done very carefully. Enlist a friend to help you hold the tape measure flat and even along the edge of the tarp if you're working with a large piece. Make a note of the length and width of the tarp. Now, add four to six inches to these measurements. This will allow for the seam. When you look at the underside of the tarp you will probably notice that it has been folded over to create the seam. Tarp measurements include the length of the folded seam.

If you don't have the old tarp on hand to measure, you'll need to measure the frame very carefully to determine the correct size for your Shelterlogic replacement covers. If you have a peaked roof, measure both sides of the roof and add these together to get the total measurement for that side of the canopy. Never measure straight across an edge unless it truly sits straight on the frame. Any area where the tarp sits at an angle, you should measure across the angle. As with the previous tarp measurement, add four to six inches to the area that you want the tarp to actually cover.

Once you have the measurements, you can begin shopping for other features that you want from your Shelterlogic replacement covers. Consider things like extra waterproofing and fireproofing. You can also choose covers in a variety of festive colors and patterns. The classic red and white stripe always evokes the mood of a carnival or festival. Clean white is ideal for outdoor weddings and formal events. With the measurements in hand, you can order multiple covers to suit a variety of needs. With extra covers on hand, you'll always be safe in case of a tear or accident that damages the first one.
