Transparent Bubble Tents

French designer Pierre Stephane Dumas has created what could be argued as art rather than a functional tent. The bubble tent is a made of a clear, transparent material and are currently only available in Europe. Sure you can buy one, but be prepared to pay somewhere between 9 and 17 thousand dollars.

The globe shaped tent does not provide much privacy but never the less, these interesting portable shelters have become all the craze in European countrysides. Due to the transparent material, the bubble tent is not ideal in direct sunlight as the internal air temperature can rise quickly. On the opposite side of the spectrum, the bubble tent can become quite cold as temperatures drop at night.

However, despite the potential negatives, the bubble tent is fun, different and could be a blast for nighttime adventures. There are even some additional models that offer privacy barriers for those looking to spend the night in one of these unique portable shelters. More information about the bubble tent can be viewed in a recent article by the MailOnline.com titled, "Transparent bubble tent puts campers under the stars (but careful where you get undressed!"

Canopies – Features to Look For

When it comes to having parties and gatherings in your back yard, you are going to want to make sure that you have everything you need to have a great time This means first of all that you will need to make sure that you have all of the best people. These are probably going to be close friends and family members. You will also want to make sure that you have some great food. When it comes to outdoor summer celebrations, you can't do better than some tasty barbeque. For many people, the answer is to choose from one of the many different kinds of canopies.

If you have never shopped for canopies before, then you are going to be in for a big surprise. The truth of the matter is that there are many different kinds for different purposes. If you are concerned about the precipitation in your area, you will want to find a canopy that has a dome shaped top. The reason is that the dome will allow the snow and the rain to fall off the top of the canopy. With a flat top on your canopy, what will happen is that the precipitation will land on top and create a pool. This will eventually collapse the canopy, no matter how sturdy it is. You will also want to consider basic features such as waterproofing. This is a great way to enjoy the outdoors even while there is a rainfall outside.

With a steel frame, you can feel secure in knowing that you canopy will withstand various kinds of storms and the elements that might knock over a weaker kind of canopy.

Finally, it's important that the canopies you are looking at offer protection from sun. A great way to do this is to make sure that the canopy you purchase is equipped with a polypropylene cover that will protect you and your family members from dangerous UV rays.

Blue Tarps Surfing - A Massive Viral Movement.

Tarp surfing is a relatively new phenomenon that has gained substantial popularity in recent years. This viral movement has taken over such sites and www.youtube.com, with epic footage of grassroots tarp surfing. Where did this new sport come from?

Tarps surfing got it's start in 2009 by the Brady family from San Juan Capistrano, California. Recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, Mr. Brady was covering his boat outside with a large blue tarp cover. As he was covering his boat he noticed how the wind blew through the cover and created a wave shape. The light material danced with the wind much in the same way a barrel is formed in the water.

This gave Mr. Brady an idea. That Christmas he bought a video camera for his sons and before long the first tarp surfing footage was uploaded to YouTube. It didn't take long for this footage to get reviewed as the hits and page views poured in. From that point on tarp surfing clubs and associations formed across the United States and the epic viral movement began. Blue Tarp Surfing is here to stay and is a lot of fun for those days when the waves are flat.
